• Saint Haven Defence has been retired.
• A new portal has opened in the lv80 Garden: Duel Dragon Nest

Challenge SDN, GDN, DDN, and BDN, solo or with a friend. Clears are account-wide.

Upon entering, you’ll receive a permanent buff that increases Movement Speed and Action Speed, provides HP regeneration over time, and grants guaranteed Critical Hits throughout the run.

This is equalized content, designed primarily for beginner to intermediate players to learn the core mechanics of the game, but also great for returning players looking to catch up.
Geared players will also be interested in obtaining the new lv80 Elemental Conversion Jade, available at the Duel Nest Store (using your account shared Duel Nest Points) via Adventurer’s Guild Master Gunther.

• Typhoon Kim Nest and Professor K Nest have returned, now as lv80 hardcore 6 player nests! Take on the challenge and earn materials to enhance your Elite Grade Dragon Jades up to +10

This content is designed and intended for experienced, well geared players that have already progressed through most of the game, seeking to min max their stats and enjoy a small challenge. Proper party composition, including roles like tanks and healers, is expected. Clears are account-wide.

Revive Limit: 1
However, a checkpoint system has been added: your entire team will be revived and fully healed after each boss encounter.

• The applied Ice Stacks display feature is now back and slightly visually improved! You can disable it by ticking off "Display Ice Stack Count" in DNO Custom Settings.

• A bunch of new options are now available disable and mute different in-game elements

• Added some attempts at fixing the softlocks in some lv80 dungeons:

Relic of Fog
Eye of the Goddess
Wailing Wall (Chaos)
Praying Heart (Chaos)

• There's now a new color available for players reaching 20k likes and above
• All towns have been decorated for Christmas

• Title screen has been updated
• Dropdown menus inside listboxes are now properly scrollable (e.g dropdowns in the DNO settings list UI)
• Client performance improvements
• Many backend upgrades and optimizations, including several new systems that will serve as the foundation for upcoming 90 cap, building internal tools to make the work easier and improving development workflows (things that might not be immediately visible to players but are essential for the long term)

Developer Note

Hey everyone,
I decided to split this patch into two parts so I could get some of the content out this weekend while still having enough time to properly finish the rest.
This update includes the new systems, backend improvements, and content mentioned above.

The next patch (planned for the next weekend) will include:

• The ability to enhance Elite Dragon Jades, which are currently non-enhanceable but will be starting next patch
• The Christmas Events (a bit different this year, we didn't want it to be the usual mindless grind)
• A Cash Shop update
• Plus some additional QoL tweaks and polish

This patch introduced a large number of backend changes and new systems (hence the length), most of which aren’t directly visible in game yet, but are very useful and some pretty essential for future updates and easier development going forward.

Events

• All towns have been decorated for Halloween

• [Crazy Duck Nest] is available once again! Defeat terrifying monsters (ducks), and their king, Dwayne Duckson, to claim various rewards including unique grade gear and Halloween tokens, that can be exchanged at Storyteller Kathy's Halloween Store!

You can enter this nest once a day/character by talking to Kathy and accepting her quest.

• After a long while, [Althea Continent Exploration] event is now also available!  Sail the seas with Beggar Loffy to try and find lots of treasures!

• Stage Clear & Monster EXP rates have been increased by 200%.

All Events End Date: Saturday, 1st November 9:00 Server Time. The Halloween Store will stay an extra week.

General

• Like History now displays the top 30 characters that have liked you in the past, and their amounts.

• All Pania weapon coupons are now standarized to have the same stacking count and tradability.
• Warp NPCs in Saint Haven & Riverwort Wharf now display most areas and NPCs to teleport to, for anyone that needs them.

• Added an option to DNO Custom that silences all pet sounds.

• All circus monsters should now have their slow-mo on death effect removed.
• Gobartan and Gobartans: The Return of the Empire now have the intended entry level limits, to avoid confusion and monsters not spawning.
• You can now craft BDN unique equipment without DDN uniques.
• Machina character creation now requires your account to have at least 1 maxed character.
• Removed the set bonus stats from Machina Dark Fire costume set.
• Fixed Archer's circus store selling the wrong lv80 boots and necklace.
• Fixed long dungeon names not fitting properly in the top right UI display.
• Fixed DC to Login feature (re-connect) making you crash once leaving town.
• Various server side improvements (not too relevant to the player).

Note: all submitted custom titles from the time attack events are now in the game, and will be distributed between today and tomorrow.

What's Next?

Some of you might be wondering what’s next, what’s happening behind the scenes, what’s left for 80 cap, and when 90 cap is coming. There will be a dedicated announcement soon, but here’s a quick summary for now:

Lately, I’ve been re-evaluating the overall direction. It’s clear that many players are taking a well-deserved break, this has been a long cap. So rather than stretching it out any more, I’d rather shift focus toward something fresh and exciting: 90 cap. It feels like the right time to move forward, and work for it has already begun. I cannot give too many details now on what exactly 90 cap will look like, but it'll be talked about soon.
That said, as plans have changed and the old “upscaled raids” idea is off the table, what you can expect for the rest of 80 cap is one final content update (more details in the upcoming announcement) and a focus on cleanup and transition work: SHD removal, daily quest reworks, and new content progression improvements to help introduce new or returning players before the next cap.

GENERAL:

• New Class available: Machina!
• Machina: due to some unexpected issues with the existing lower level gear for this class, all of them will start at lv80 directly! A creation limit of 2 has also been added to prevent certain types of abuse.
• Equipment: the available machina specific equipment of this cap is:

Fedoru - lv80 epic set found at Magician Sander's Store.

Red Dragon Unique/Legendary - obtainable through blacksmith crafting and/or Red Dragon Nest (Normal & Hardcore)

Technique Accessories - craftable at blacksmith.

Skill Plates - are also now available for purchasing at the heraldry NPC in Saint Haven.

Unfortunately, while there were plans to introduce more sets, especially for lower level content, some unexpected issues appeared in the last moment and they had to be scrapped.

• Specialization: to start your specialization, look for Martial Artist Xiaolong NPC to start your quest, or accept it via the remote quests UI.
• Machina's MQ: just like during lancea's early release on 70 cap, Main Quest for Machina will not be available until later.
• Main Quest (General): the long-lasting bugs where Chapter 5 & 9 would be impossible to continue have been fixed. Other issues such as certain quest NPCs disappearing and some quest rewards being unable to be received should also be fixed.
• Connection: the "restart on DC" feature has been improved to now send you back to the login screen and automatically relog you in, for a much faster reconnection.

Similar to this, the error "duplicate login" now no longer closes your game, and instead allows you to retry logging in.

• Tacitus: barmech on hardcore has been disabled until an issue where barbarian class would sometimes instantly die is fixed.
• Misc: implemented some more slight client and server side optimizations.
• Events/Weekly Missions UI: should no longer pop up every time you enter town.
• Client: client's patch version check on log in has been improved.
• Cash Shop: to not conflict with the next update, machina's costumes and other cash shop items will not be available until next patch. Have fun being fashion-less for a while.

What's Next?

Next patch will introduce (finally) some new content to DNO, two 4-man nests. Additionally, expect another wave of class balancing, a Cash Shop update, and more.

General

• Trading House: the "check market price" option now properly displays the average, lowest and highest price of the past 40 days. If no records are found in that time frame, it'll use older data.

An option to automatically post your TH listing on DNO Discord is now available.

• Numeric Abbreviation: this option now displays numbers in millions (M) and billions (B), instead of simply truncating by 1000.

• Skill Tree: you can now reset your skills anytime and without any cost. The reset button will either clear your current unsaved tree, or reset your skill build if your tree is already saved.

All skill reset cash items have been removed from Cash Shop, Deluxe Boxes & Circus Shop.

You can now also properly delete your skill presets after selecting them.

• Spirits: all lv11 and above Spirits can be used as material, and transfer it's level. E.g a lv20 Spirit, used as material, will level up any other spirit to lv20.

Spirit Essence pouches are now able to be put in server storage, as long as they haven't been opened yet.

• Lancea: Scar Maker & Will Maker are now visible regardless of your transparency settings.
• Towns: Christmas decorations have been removed.
• Donation System: is now available, at Helper Trisha NPC.

Donate some of your gold monthly, and obtain powerful titles and other small benefits.

Daily rewards are sent every day at 00:00 Server Time. On the 1st of every month, at 00:00, rewards will be sent to the top donors and the ranking will be reset.

All title stats are based on Buried Hero's, and slightly increased as an incentive to reward your "charitable contributions".

• Improvements: many back-end changes have been made, to allow for some upcoming features, such as an in-game auction house.

What's Next?

Next weekend, Red Dragon Nest Hardcore's patch will be released, together with it's events, SHD drop and shop changes, a Cash Shop update, and more. The exact time will be announced soon.

What's Next:

The release date for Red Dragon Nest Hardcore has been set: Saturday, January 18th.
Before that, expect another patch in early January.

General

• Desert Dragon Nest Hardcore: is now back and as challenging as ever. Available at Red Dragon Nest's portal (the lv60 version & memorias have been disabled)

All monster stats have been adjusted for lv80, element resist has been equalized and lowered to 30%, time limit has been removed and new drops have been added:

Light/Fire/Dark Attack Enhancement Plate (provides crit & element atk %)

Additionally, you can now obtain 2 new colored titles by killing the Desert Dragon & clearing with all 8 players alive.

The titles provide a good amount of element atk %, as well as other useful stats. These additions are now available in DNO, to compensate for the lack of costume stats.

• Speedrun Board: you can now view each run's DPS meter, and when inspecting one of the players, the option to view the skill build they cleared with is now available.

DPS Meter for dungeon runs, and per-boss dps is not available.

Additionally, you can no longer appear multiple times in the solo rankings. Instead, only your best time will be displayed and updated as you improve. All solo run records have been reset.

• Battle Training Grounds: has been fully reworked, bringing back some old DNO features, as well as some new ones.

Change Background Color (dark, light, purple)

Change Monster: you can now switch between 3 different size (small, medium & large) monsters.

Training Dummy: no longer rotates itself or jumps backwards.

Party Buffs: select between some of the main party buffs & a duration.

Equalize Attack: select to toggle forcing your damage to always use your max attack, for more consistent damage testing.

Skill Hitbox: select to toggle the visibility of your skill hitboxes.

Ranking: every BTG kill is now saved, so everyone can check the ranking and view the DPS skill spread, skill builds and gear of the most performing players in their own class.

Your DPS will not be recorded if you use party buffs or enter BTG as part of a party. To become eligible again, simply click the reset button. This will remove any applied buffs, reset your skill cooldowns, and refresh the monster.

• All towns: Halloween decoration has been removed, as well as Crazy Duck event NPCs.
• Priest Relics: effect transparency settings now affect relic skills.

Class Changes

There will be more class changes, but these are the last ones for a while.

General

• Skills: improved all skills that apply effects based on hits, significantly increasing accuracy in high action situations.

Explanation: originally, the game checked the last hit on a target to apply effects, which lead to errors when many skills were used. Now, it accurately detects the specific hit and skill that triggered the effect, fixing issues like Obscuria's Gravity Controller dealing less damage during heavy action.

• DPS Meter: the above change improves a lot the dps meter skill detection, especially for tracking additional damage.

Context: our DPS meter assigns additional damage to the specific skill that caused it, rather than grouping it as generic additional damage like on official servers. This approach was a bit challenging because of the way skills interacted, but with the new hit detection improvements, the DPS meter now provides much more precise data.

• Speedrun Board: has been completely reset, and improved to now record the players since the start of the run. This means, that even if a player leaves the party in the last moment before clearing, the run's party size won't decrease and the player will still be present in the board.

Additionally, some changes have been made to allow viewing the DPS of the whole run in the Speedrun Board. This change will be added in another update, but the game has already started recording DPS and assigning it to specific runs, which will be available as soon as the feature drops.

• Lv80 Rare Talismans: are now available for crafting.

Since the material needed have been farmable from the start of the cap, an additional one has been added to the crafting requirements. It's obtainable, in different quantities, from: Volcano Nest, Volcano Ordeal Nest, Red Dragon Memoria & Red Dragon Nest.

• Battle Training Grounds: the golem has been updated to lv80 and it's HP has been increased. BTG is scheduled for a complete rework soon.

Event

Log in every day and receive different Halloween themed items. Rewards are sent by mail to the first character you log in with, so make sure to keep that in mind!

End Date: 02-11-2024 (Saturday, included)

Additionally, on Wednesday 30th of October, at 10:00 Server Time, there will be a nest and circus reset.

Class Changes

FYI: there are no more class changes for this week, they've been postponed to a future patch, as more data is needed.

And before anyone freaks out, there aren't many nerfs planned, but this one had to be done. Other classes have to be able to perform as well.

General

• Red Dragon Nest Memoria: is now available at lv80 Garden of time and Space. Practice the first 2 RDN bosses, and obtain jewels, red dragon scales & of course some gold.
• Sparks: all existing lv80 sparks have been updated to use the correct stats and effects.
